Pioneering a New Chapter for Napa Valley News

Our Journey Begins

In the heart of Napa Valley, where stories of community, innovation, and resilience flourish among the rolling vineyards, a new chapter in the preservation of local news began with the founding of the Napa Valley News Group. Born from the strategic vision of Highway 29 in 2022, our mission was clear: to prevent the emergence of a news desert in our beloved valley by ensuring the Calistoga Tribune and Yountville Sun not only survived but thrived.

Our journey is rooted in the belief that local news is the cornerstone of our community. It informs us, unites us, and reflects the vibrant tapestry of life in Napa Valley. As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, the Napa Valley News Group is more than a guardian of local journalism; we are its innovators, dedicated to transforming and sustaining these essential resources for our generation and those to come.

A Vision for Sustainability

The transition to the Napa Valley News Group marked a pivotal moment in our quest. With the unwavering support of our community, we embarked on a mission to redefine the future of local news. Our approach is twofold: to honor the legacy of traditional journalism in our publications and to embrace the potential of digital platforms to reach wider audiences.

Our pioneering initiatives, including the launch of NapaLife Extra and NapaValleyInsider.com, reflect our commitment to delivering comprehensive, valley-wide news coverage that meets the needs of a modern audience. By securing funding for key reporter positions and forging strategic partnerships, we have strengthened our ability to tell the stories that matter most to our community.

Embracing the Future

Looking ahead, the Napa Valley News Group is poised at the forefront of a transformative era for local news. Our future-focused strategies aim to expand our coverage, enhance the quality of our publications, and deepen our connection with the community we serve. Through comprehensive grant and donor programs, we are opening new avenues for fundraising and partnerships, ensuring the long-term sustainability of our mission.

As we navigate the changing landscape of local news, our commitment remains steadfast: to provide the Napa Valley with reliable, impactful journalism that informs, engages, and inspires. We envision a future where local news continues to thrive as a pillar of our community, powered by innovation, collaboration, and the continued support of our readers and advertisers.
